History
Opening in 1892, Waters Furniture was long known as “Missouri’s LARGEST Small Town Furniture Store.” The collection of furniture-filled buildings in downtown Vandalia was established by W.S. Waters and became a landmark in Missouri, drawing savvy furniture buyers from as far away as St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks, and even downstate Illinois. The reason Waters Furniture was able to thrive in Vandalia was because of the near proximity to the train. Since the train was so close, W.S. Waters was able to offer the very lowest prices on the best furniture one could buy.
Several years later, the Wright family became only the 3rd owners of Waters Furniture. They saw the many positives that Waters Furniture had to offer which is why there are many similarities in product between Wright Furniture and Waters Furniture.
In 2019, the Wright family decided to move Waters Furniture to Hannibal. With this move, Waters Furniture merged with the Wright Furniture store location to offer a better and easier shopping experience. Here you will find an amazing, newly remodeled showroom with the same name brand and high-quality furniture that was once at the original Waters location. Plus, we continue to offer the same Lowest Price Promise. For the Waters furniture and pricing you love, stop by our new Hannibal showroom so we can continue servicing the people of Missouri.
